The story picks up after a heated town hall but overall, the ending was underwhelming. I wish Harper had focused more on the thin line of grief-stricken parents, that she wove through the novel. In the end, it failed to deliver on the shock & awe, or the gotcha gotcha of typical thrillers. Predictable.
It was just “meh” for a murder mystery.
