Rating Scale

A 5-star book is a book that I loved, would buy again, and would recommend to anyone and everyone!

What I am looking for:
– Excellent character development. Characters are relatable, used effective language for getting their story out, and are both complex and human meaning, they exhibit characteristics that would be realistic in the real world.
– Exceptional writing style. Dialogue isn’t too wordy and big, complex words are not used when more common words will do.
– The plot is well thought out. The story is well-paced and easy to follow.
– The story and characters have an emotional impact.

A 4-star book is a book that I enjoyed and would recommend. This book may have lacked something that didn’t push it to the list but overall, it kept me intrigued.

A 3-star book is a book that was mediocre in my opinion. I often rate books that were neither mind-blowing nor terrible, a 3-star rating. It’s very middle of the road for me, I might recommend it and I might reread it; who knows?

A 2-star book is a book that lacks quite a bit of substance for me.

– No character development or lack of character personality.
– The writing style is confusing, lacks the context needed to understand, or is too wordy.
– Too many characters. Too many points of view.

A 1-star book is a book that I struggled to get through and just, hated it. Might’ve finished it, might not have.
