Sure. Girl meets guy – handsome, successful, educated, doctor guy – girl likes guy; girl and guy live happily ever after.
Guillory is going to give you a love story all tied up with a pretty bow at the end, I like that but, sometimes the climax that has to happen for that bow is frustrating and often not a realistic idea of how adults of “this” stature would navigate an adult relationship.
The saving grace throughout the story is Carlos’ family. Carlos was really a great guy and super rare to come by in the real world.
T’was a cute story. Although I am not a fan of the fluffy, lovey-dovey, romance tropes that Guillory writes – I will always pick up her books to read because I love supporting a black woman.
