Figured it out way too early.

The story bounces between two perspectives, Nellie a young teacher with a full life ahead of her, and, Vanessa a recent divorcee who cannot pull herself out of a slump (i.e. depression), she drinks too much and has self-sabotaged her way into now living with her aunt and barely keeping her head above water.

Wildly out of control and refusing to listen to any sound advice, Vanessa begins stalking Richard’s (her ex) new soon-to-be wife. She is late to work, drinking too much, and involving herself in their lives way too much.

In some twisted way, Vanessa has good intentions but, we all know that the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

I think the two timelines and perspectives are supposed to be the big shocker in the end but again, I figured out that Nellie and Vanessa were one and the same very early. I also put two-and-two together to realize why Vanessa was so invested in Richard and Emma. Again, it was twisted but not shocking.

One-Word Summary: Predictable
