Reading Recap: Aug 2023

Where did the time go?

I gave myself a budget this month and, I’m proud to say that I did not spend more than what I budgeted on books. Give me some kudos! I’ve also been testing our Storygraph versus GoodReads to see which one I’ll stick with — word is that GoodReads is being left out to pasture by Jeff Bezos.

I took a mini break at the end of the month due to some traveling. I also didn’t have anything too compelling that made me want to read. I should’ve finished my NetGalley ARC, The Stranger Upstairs by Lisa M. Matlin but, it hasn’t moved me. I may finish it today (after the writing of this post).

I’m 67 books into the year and have upped my goal, once again to 100 books this year which, I’m on pace to read if I can keep knocking out 10 books per month. Alright, enough of my chatty nonsense, here is what I read in August.

I’m Whitney

I’m diving back into reading and taking my time to really enjoy each book—soaking up the writing, analyzing the characters, and seeing what makes a story stick (or miss the mark). Right here is where I write honest, no-fluff reviews.
