Reading Recap: Mar 2025

the goal: save coins

I took over a year off and cut you bitc*es some slack. Tell a friend to tell a friend. She’s baaaaack!

Reading slumps are real, and sometimes you don’t even realize you’re in one until you’ve fully spiraled into the dark hole of doom-scrolling—at least, that was the case for me. I ended up taking a full day this month to revamp my site (yes, this site), update all the featured images on every post, and create a new Google Sheet to track my reading. I even logged back into NetGalley and got back to business.

Starting this month—and honestly, every month going forward—my goal is to spend as little money on books as possible. Translation: I’m burning through my library card and now doom-scrolling on both NetGalley and Libby. In the past couple of years, I’ve spent way too much on paperbacks and hardcovers, only to read them once and let them sit on my bookshelf collecting dust. My next move is to try selling the books I already have—maybe on my own or possibly through an online bookstore. TBD.

In this new era (lol), I’m focusing on writing better quality reviews. They’re a bit more long-form, but more thoughtful and thorough. And I’m also trying to expand my reading palette—baby steps.

But, here’s what I read in March…

I’m Whitney

I’m diving back into reading and taking my time to really enjoy each book—soaking up the writing, analyzing the characters, and seeing what makes a story stick (or miss the mark). Right here is where I write honest, no-fluff reviews.
