Whew! I came into September ready to lock in and completely transform my life over the next 120 days. I had my healthy eating on track. I was determined to knock out 10 books on my way to hitting 100 for the year. I was working out 3–4 days a week and chasing my fastest 5K yet. But MY GOD…
“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’”.
Even with the best of intentions, I found myself laying everything down before God—doing what the church mothers call “sitting down.” Sometimes we have to “sit down” our ego, our pride, even our carefully made plans, and lean into the plans He has for us. These past twenty days have been a living testimony of that truth.
September may not have looked the way I envisioned back on August 31, but it has been nothing short of miraculous. I may not have cracked open a book or shared much here, but trust and believe—
…that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
And so, I will read 100 books this year.
I will finish the books I’ve downloaded but left unopened.
I will refresh my Libby holds and get back to it.
